1. ALUMINA

Alumina is one of the most widely used ceramics. It has high resistance to abrasion and corrosion, excellent hardness, high mechanical strength and good dimensional stability.

2. BORE NITRIDE

Boron nitride is characterized by an excellent resistance to corrosion in a reducing atmosphere. Its use is mainly extended due to its good resistance to thermal shock, its high electrical resistivity and its excellent machinability.
  • Hot-pressed boron nitride: various grades are available and recommended according to their application characteristics (high mechanical resistance, moisture resistance, chemical and electrical properties ...) Available in bars, plates and parts Machined on plan.
  • Boron nitride powder (various compositions and particle sizes).

3. ALUMINUM NITRIDE

Shapal-M is a high-purity, low coefficient of thermal expansion (4.4 ppm / ° C), good thermal conductivity (90 W / m) . ° C) and good machinability.

4. BORON CARBIDE

Boron carbide (B4C) has interesting physicochemical properties, generating a wide range of applications:
  • Boron carbide is extremely hard and has a high wear resistance, hence its use in the manufacture of blast nozzles and nozzles; It is used in powder form as an abrasive for polishing or in water jet cutting.
  • Because of its high neutron efficiency, boron carbide is used as a neutron absorbent in nuclear reactor control rods.
  • Its high hardness, high modulus of elasticity and low density make boron carbide very effective in stopping high-speed projectiles. It is therefore frequently used as a ballistic shielding material.
Boron carbide is also used in the composition of certain welding electrodes to improve the wear resistance at the surface of the weld.

5. MACOR

MACOR is a machinable vitro-ceramic (milling, turning, drilling ...) with very precise tolerances by conventional means (carbide tools preferably), thanks to a bi-phase microstructure (mica crystals in a glass matrix).
